#13 Cop Fear & Police Rules

Cop Fear & Engagement

  • Police officers must be feared and respected during roleplay interactions.

  • A meaningful interaction is required before any lethal force is used against law enforcement. Officers should not be shot without prior engagement or reason.

  • Suspects must comply with officer demands at gunpoint, except during major crimes like bank, store, jewelry, or house robberies.

  • When criminals outnumber police at a scene, the criminals may apply gun fear rules to the officers instead.

Cop Baiting

  • Cop baiting is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to:

    • Committing crimes directly in front of officers with the intent to provoke a chase or confrontation.

    • Taking hostages or flashing illegal items/weapons obviously in front of officers to provoke a response.

    • Leading police on chases to compounds or ambushes to outnumber or trap them.

  • Enforcement of cop baiting rules is discretionary and depends on video evidence provided in reports.

General Police Rules

  • Once in police custody and handcuffed, suspects cannot transfer or hide items by emptying pockets into vehicles or onto other players.

  • It is allowed to take an officer hostage, but it is the officer’s responsibility to inquire about outside help or vehicles during the situation. If officers fail to ask, help presence can still be factored into roleplay.

  • Officers cannot remove licenses from dead bodies; licenses may only be removed from living criminals.

  • Dirty cops are not tolerated.

    • Officers who accept bribes to reduce punishment or share information are not automatically considered dirty cops, but those who give or sell PD weapons or items are strictly prohibited and may face permanent bans.

  • Water chases are to be used as a last resort and kept brief.

  • During prison transports, gun fear may be enacted on officers to attempt freeing suspects being transported for crimes.
